IIDCA TO WORK WITH GOVERNMENTS TO COMBAT CHILDHOOD OBESITY

According to the WHO, childhood obesity is one of the main evils of the 21st century, but it also conditions the future of the world's population to be more prone to various diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and many others. Considering children under 18 years of age, more than 170 million children suffer from this disease as a result of poor diet and sedentary lifestyle.

In 2008, a plan was drawn up to monitor and act against this "pandemic", proposing that governments promote healthy habits based on proper nutrition and physical activity. To this end, the WHO asks governments to engage and link up with NGOs such as IIDCA.

In 2024, IIDCA will propose to the different governments of the continent that we carry out events, activities, and everything that we have as a benchmark in the sector that allows us to help get children and young people in different cities and nations moving.

The joint work will be based on promoting, in addition to the movement, a balanced diet, inclusivity, environmental support, the application of technology in a positive way, and we will be emphatic in the fight against bullying.

All companies that wish to support this cause will be vital to generate a broader awareness in our population, and in the future healthier adults.
