The Latin American Sports Tourism Network is an initiative created in 2022 under the direction of Chilean engineer Andrés Sarmiento, with the purpose of promoting sports tourism in the region. This network stands out for its focus on sustainable development, integrating both sport and local culture and social inclusion.

Its main objective is to contribute to the development of sports tourism in an associative way through actions that allow strengthening the sports and tourism ecosystem of the Latin American region. These actions will be in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and will seek to become an example to follow worldwide by incorporating key issues such as local development, sustainability, inclusion, innovation, sports heritage and peace.

Among its milestones is the holding of the first Latin American Sports Tourism Congress in San Luis de Potosí, Mexico, in 2023, and various Seminars throughout Latin America. This year, the first issue of the magazine "Destino Activo" was launched, as well as the "Latin American Ambassadors of Sports Tourism" Program and the "University for Sports Tourism" Program.

Finally, its members are: San Luis de Potosí (Mexico), Puchuncaví (Chile), Juan de Acosta (Colombia), La Paloma (Uruguay), Puerto Salgar (Colombia), Cota (Colombia), Cobaño (Costa Rica), Medellín (Colombia), Ibarra (Ecuador), Esquel (Argentina), Puerto Madryn (Argentina) and Villa de Merlo (Argentina)
