Acupuncture vs. Dry Needling: Two Techniques, Two Objectives ๐Ÿฉบโœจ

  22/11/2024

Both acupuncture and dry needling use needles to treat different conditions, but their approaches are very different. Let's learn a little more about each:

๐ŸŒฟ Acupuncture

Originally from traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture focuses on balancing the body's energies through the insertion of needles into the "meridians," energy channels of the body. It is used to treat chronic pain, respiratory problems, psychological problems, and more. The main goal is to restore energy flow and harmonize the body as a whole.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Dry Needling

On the other hand, dry needling is focused on the treatment of muscle pain. Needles are inserted directly into myofascial trigger points to relieve muscle tension and cause deep relaxation. Unlike acupuncture, dry needling is based on scientific evidence and its sole goal is to relieve muscle pain.

๐Ÿ”ธ While acupuncture seeks a comprehensive balance of energies, dry needling focuses on the affected muscles. Two techniques with very different purposes, but both with the power to heal! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ก
